    Hack on AF100? “Definitely Possible”

    January 24, 2011 by Patrick

With the first firmware release for the Panasonic AF-100 (it fixes some SD card issues,) Panasonic has opened up the AF-100 for whatever hackers can come up with. The unencrypted firmware is similar to that of the Lumix GH2 according to hacker Vitaliy Kiselev. Kiselev worked on the original hack for the GH1 and seems driven to crack the AF-100 as well. The AF-100 is already such an exciting camera (and possible game changer,) I’m interested in seeing what he can come up with to possibly elevate it’s status.

Thanks to EOSHD for the info.

HDR Video Using a Hacked GH1 and Color Grading

    January 6, 2011 by Patrick

Looking around Vimeo the other day, Gabe stumbled across an incredible video. Yann Kibongui found a way to create a High Dynamic Range (HDR) video using his hacked Lumix GH1 (GH13) and color grading. He doesn’t explain how he did it, but the results really speak for themselves.

Take a look at the footage before and after the color grading.
