Google is reporting the purchase of small video enhancement company, Green Parrot Pictures. They have developed tech that de-noises, sharpens and steadies footage while it’s being uploaded to YouTube. With more and more consumer electronics featuring cameras and a lot of those videos ending up on YouTube, it would make sense to improve their quality if at all possible.
I’m interested in seeing how this will effect videos that have intentional shaky-ness, noise or any other “usual” unwanted effects. Either way, improving YouTube is a great idea. I’m excited to see how these tools will really work.
