Easy Tone Mapping

Tone mapping is an image processing technique that simulates the properties of high dynamic range (HDR) photography. ToneGrade™ allows you to easily and quickly apply tone mapping to your footage. The result is a striking, “hyper-real” frame with an expanded range of detail in both highlights and shadows. By simply adjusting the slider controls inside ToneGrade™, you can dial in a small amount of tone mapping to give punch to ordinary footage, or you can crank it up to create a dramatic, highly stylized image.

Easy Detail Recovery

ToneGrade™ also allows you to restore fine detail in your frame. Unlike sharpening filters, ToneGrade™ overlays multiple luma layers to pull out detail with very little added noise. When combined with ToneGrade™’s tone mapping, this additional layer of detail recovery allows you to create an image that is simultaneously tack-sharp and natural looking.

Fast Color Grading

To round out the HDR effect, ToneGrade™ provides a set of easy, powerful color grading tools. A single control allows you to quickly cool or warm your footage, and a skin smoothing control selectively softens skin tones. The result is a single package that allows you to quickly and easily achieve beautiful tone mapped HDR color grades that would otherwise require multiple third party add-ons.
